Last week, when the weather was hot, humid and horrible, I finally had it and set up this "easy set up" pool. On the box, it advertises that it will be ready for water in 10 minutes.....HA! This is not taking into consideration that you must find a flat piece of ground, check with the town laws about securing a pool in your yard, and take a CPR course, just in case! Also, the inflatable top ring can NOT be inflated using a handy air compressor pump but a manual, sweat-your-brains-out regular pump. Bethany and I tag-teamed the pumping which took around 30 minutes to inflate, not 10. Okay. Now that you are "ready" for water, you then realize why they don't advertise how long it takes to fill it with water and just advertise how long it takes to get ready for water! It took most of all day. Luckily, the girls didn't mind spending the duration playing in the pool while it filled.
Well, after all that, I must say that the girls have enjoyed having a pool in their front yard immensely. It is a great compromise between a regular pool and a baby pool. Being only 3 feet deep, all the girls can touch the bottom of the pool and feel very comfortable playing in the pool. This is increasing their confidence enough to begin to experiment more with swimming. A couple downsides are that the water is freezing and since it is located under trees in constantly filled with pine needles, leaves and poor helpless creepy, crawlies that Mommy has to rescue then fling to safety of the nearby woods. We are hoping that the cover due to arrive soon will help with the second problem.

Meg, You are a "Dave Barry"-funny story teller. The girlies are lucky that you have provided a solution to help them deal with the east coast bear of heat and humidity.
Suggestion: tell them the entrance fee to the pool is to help keep it clean.
Very brave of you to clear the pool of creepy crawlies, around here Rycharn gets that job (but not from a pool, just from our house).
My kids would love to have a pool but it seems like it is too much work to maintain and to keep the kids safe. Sounds like the cover will be important.
