The Patriot Half

On Saturday, Arnie participated in the Patriot Half Triathlon. It is the same distances as a Half Ironman but as it is not sponsored by them, it can not be called a Half Ironman. It was held in Freetown, Massachusetts, which is considered the South shore of Boston. It was around a hour and a half drive from our house. We woke up around 3am in order to get Arnie there by 6am to check in. The race officially began at 7am but Arnie's wave (the green caps) didn't start until around 7:30am. He finished the race in 5 hours, 43 minutes and 22 seconds. This beats his Boise Half Ironman time by about 20 minutes. The girls enjoyed seeing their daddy racing but didn't like the waiting in between. I used that time to practice taking pictures of the other racers so I would be ready to take Arnie's picture and to gain experience taking sports shots.

Arnie, right before his swim "wave" begins.
The water is 76 degrees so they can wear their wet suits.
