Day two was spent doing "ocean stuff." We went to see the Bar's Head Lighthouse but only saw as much as you see in the picture below. We went tide pooling which took the rest of the morning as the trail to the tide pool was longer than we had thought and the rocks were slippery with sea weed. I didn't get very many pictures of that because Kaitlyn ended up needing to go to the bathroom and the only one was at the head of the trail.

After the tide pools, we went to Echo lake to go swimming. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed and so we had to split up. I took the girls to the lake and Arnie took LT on yet another trail up above the lake. However, right before he headed out, he ran into a family from church in the parking lot who were coming swimming and before we knew it we were invited to their rented beach house for lobster dinner! This was very cool on several accounts. One was that the girls had friends to play with and two was that I didn't have to cook dinner. I had begun to feel a little sick and was having some vertigo so having some help was just what I needed. The rest of the pictures were taken on the way to their house and during dinner.

Bethany was the only one who ate the lobster with Arnie and I. I was only able to eat a little bit of mine because of how I was feeling although I did get the opportunity to try to pry the meat out of the shell which I think is the biggest part of the experience. If you feel up to eating anything after banging, and bashing and all that, I think that is probably a bonus.

And before I forget, Bethany ended up getting a sunburn across her shoulders and now believes me that they hurt. She has now vowed to put on sunscreen. Ah, the little victories of natural consequences!

Acadia, the first National Park east of the Mississippi, provided wonderful photo opps to practice your (and Malia's) photography skills. Sorry about Bethany's sunburn. Do they have aloe back there? Yes, lobster is an acquired taste.
I tired lobster on our cruise we went on and its not my favorite kind of fish. but the pictures you took look great and so pretty.
Looks like great fun and some good memories (including things like the walk back to the trailhead for facilities - aah the memories :) Good to see you are all having a wonderful summer.
