Bethany's DI Competition

Bethany was involved in an afterschool activity called Destination Imagination, otherwise known as "DI." I was a co-manager for her 2nd grade "Rising Stars" team (seen below.) In this program, it is up to the children to solve the problems given them without any interference from the adults. We are just there to encourage team work and for first aid...just kidding :).

Bethany's age group was to challenged to put on a skit about a "twist" in history. They chose to twist history so that the dinosaurs still roamed the earth. The T-rex is to the far left. The two cave women are in front. The green gal is a triceratops and Bethany, in the back, is a black and white wolf, who warns the people of the T-rex's presence.
This picture illustrates how uninvolved the adults were. We were about to go on and the girls were stapling Bethany's tail onto her leotard because that was the best way to keep it on. Even the making of the costumes must be done solely by the children.

Sounds like a super program and a great experience for Bethany (and Mom to watch the imagination happen)! Thanks for sharing!

Interesting experience, but must be hard for the parents to not help or give advise.
